ENTERPRISE VENTURES INVESTS IN YOUNGER SKIN LIMITED
12 January 2005
The RisingStars Growth Fund, which is managed by Enterprise Ventures, has completed an investment in Younger Skin Limited.
Younger Skin, a spin-out of Halifax-based business Blueprint Innovation, is developing novel cosmetic products and will use the Fund's investment to develop its sales and marketing activities. The product is expected to be on the shelves of major retailers during 2005.
Mick Karol, Director of Younger Skin Limited and the inventor of the product said, "The technology has been developed, but we needed funding to develop our sales and marketing capability. We have worked closely with the RisingStars Growth Fund to take this exciting opportunity forward. Interest in the product has been outstanding, and 90 per cent of people that have tried it have reported positive results - not everyone wants, or needs, to go under the surgeon's knife!".
Mark Wyatt, EV Investment Manager for the investment, pictured left, said "The Fund is excited about supporting Younger Skin, which has a well balanced management team, a well positioned product, and a focused commercial plan. We look forward to working with the company and to supporting their ambitious growth plans".
The RisingStars Growth Fund provides early stage risk finance to high growth technology companies, at the seed or start-up phase, and will also invest at the 'proof of concept' stage. Companies must demonstrate excellent commercial prospects, and are likely to receive the funding in stages against development milestones. In addition to finance, the Fund offers considerable support and guidance in assisting companies with their strategic, technical and market development.
