Mark joined EV in 2004 and has over eight years’ venture capital experience, with a focus on the emerging life science and environmental technology sectors.

Prior to joining EV, Mark was an Associate at Merlin Biosciences Limited where he was responsible for the evaluation and coordination of due diligence on investment opportunities, and post investment monitoring.  He also worked on a range of investments, including Ardana, Biovex, BioWisdom, Graffinity Pharmaceuticals and Vectura. 

Mark has a degree in Pharmacology from the University of Bath, and a year of his degree course was spent on secondment to SmithKline Beecham. He also has a PhD in Pharmacology from the Glaxo Institute of Applied Pharmacology at Cambridge University, and an Executive MBA from the University of Warwick where he was awarded a Sainsbury Fellowship in Life Sciences. 

Mark was instrumental in the October 2006 AIM listing of Plant Impat plc, of which he is now a Non Executive Director.
