Applying for funding

Our preference is for the management to start exploring funding from RisingStars with a direct contact to one of our team either by:-

Telephone - Call Enterprise Ventures on 01772 270570 and you will be forwarded onto the appropriate RisingStars team member, or

Email us with a description of the business. A "war and peace" business plan is unnecessary, two or three pages will be fine. One way to catch our attention is to email your pitch as an audio file (e.g. mp3) so we can listen on our travels.

As a policy, in common with many other investors, we do not sign NDAs at the application stage but we do value our reputation in dealing sensitively with entrepeneurs' information.

If, after the initial discussion, you have an opportunity that would like to take forward, you will be invited to meet the rest of the team at one of our new opportunity assessment days. Got to the 'Frequently Asked Questions' page for the guidance notes.

We find these sessions useful in reducing the time for all involved to assess the proposal and to obtain input from the whole RisingStars team. The assessment day session is an infomal meeting when we can bounce around ideas and try to develop the idea or business further even if we are not ultimately able to invest ourselves.

If our team then believe the proposition is one we wish to pursue, one of us will assess further the opportunity and technology in order to value its potential. The process thereafter includes due diligence, agreement on terms, and investment committee approval.

The quickest completion to date, from initial meeting to investment, has been two weeks, though we normally expect it to be a twelve week process.
